Nature

I really love nature and every time I walk past pretty flowers or see something unusual I think to myself that would make a great picture.  My newest addition to my kit is a Nikon Micro lens so I have now been able to capture those pictures.  Here are a few of my recent captures.

I found this caterpillar in my garden, I have never seen one like this before!

This ugly creature was trying to get some shade, I had no idea what it was, it turns out to be an Elephant Hawk Moth and although looks quite ugly now grows into a beautiful pink moth.  I would like to get a picture of it then!

I actually have a phobia of bees but find it quite calming taking pictures of them in flowers.  I especially love the details of the wings in this picture.

Roses are very beautiful and one of my favourite flowers!

Back after the Summer holidays

The summer holidays have now come to an end but it's also the start of new beginnings for my two boys.  Aiden my eldest boy started primary school and Harley my youngest started preschool.  Both were extremely excited to start which made it a lot easier for me.  I took a few quick snaps the morning on their first day.

The Dormer's

It's always great working for friends especially when they keep asking for more shoots.  We went to a wooded park for this shoot and it was much colder then what it seemed and although the children were quite cold we managed to get some great shots from them.

The Kirkups

It's been a little while since I've published anything on my blog so I'm doing a bit of a catch up.

A few weeks a go I had the privilage of shooting the Kirkup Family.  The weather was forcast to rain but when the shoot came the sun was shinning so we took the opportunity to have the shoot outside as orginally planned.  It really makes such a difference when the weather is kind!

Baby Ava was so cute but unfortunately wasn't her best that day, but I was able to get a few cute pictures of her!

What a lovely family, it was lovely shooting you all espcially at this exciting time for them as they now have their first grand child!

Oliver and Whitney

Huge congratulations to Oliver and Whitney on their engagement, the proposal was really sweet.  Oliver and Whitney were out for a walk and started taking photo's, Oliver had set the camera on timer and then dropped down on one knee, he got the timing spot on and caught Whitney's reaction!

Their engagement shoot was taken at Joss Bay Beach, Margate.  It was quite a cold day but they both worked through it really well.  Here are a few of my favourites.

Baby T

I had the opportunity this week to shoot my first new born, Baby T.  He is just over a week old and so very cute.  Baby T was very awake throughout the shoot - wanting to pose for the camera!  Here are my favourites.

As you can probably tell i'm really loving the black and white edits at the moment.  I hope you like them too :)

New Techniques

I love taking pictures of my two boys but they have got to a point where they hate having their picture taken, so much so that whenever I get my camera out and point it at them they say "No Mummy!" So I wanted to try a couple of new techniques to try and capture their natural beauty.

I was really pleased with the results, especially from Harley (above) as he is a "cheese" child and it can be difficult to get the natual smile from him.
